Judith James Textile Constructions


Judith received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in graphic design and photography from Southeastern Massachusetts University (now the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth) in 1971. In 2002 she received a Master of Arts degree in textile design from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL). She taught classes as a visiting lecturer in the Department of Textiles, Clothing and Design at UNL between 2002 and 2009, as well as in the Department of Art & Art History during those same years. She taught workshops at textile conferences both nationally and internationally.  Before moving to Lincoln, Nebraska, she co-owned The Fabric Studio in Swansea, Massachusetts, where she taught clothing design and construction. Her textile constructions have been exhibited and published nationally and internationally and are included in numerous private collections both in the US and abroad.
